Obituary of Sarah Ella Morris
CAMDEN – Funeral service for Sarah Ella Morris, 82, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Rembert, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Atkerson will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mrs. Morris, wife of the late Charlie Lawrence Morris, died Thursday, October 20, 2011. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Daniel and Sarah Ella Benton Douglas. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning.
Surviving are her sons, Charles W. Morris (DeeJay) of Camden and Harold Morris of Cassatt; daughters, Alice M. Furniss of Camden and Betty M. Davis of Camden; brothers, John Henry Douglas, and Thurmond Douglas; sisters, Johnnie Mae Huckabee of Andalusia, Ala., Marie Altman of Andalusia, Ala., Mary Bowers of Camden, and Vernell Cain of Camden; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; 14 great great-grandchildren; and 3 great great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two children; step-daughter, Blanche Morris McManus; brother, Bobby Douglas; and sister, Grace Catoe.
