CAMDEN – A memorial service for Mary James Horner, 54, will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Bruce Marthers will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Sisters of Charity, 2749 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC 29204. Mrs. Horner, wife of the late Jerry W. Horner, died Saturday, July 30, 2011. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Joe B. and Violet Harmon James. She worked for Johnnie’s Servicenter and enjoyed the beach. Surviving are her son, Dion Horner of Camden; daughter, Megan Horner of Camden; step-children, Jerry Horner Jr. (Ronni) of Camden, Adam Horner of Shelby N.C., and Angie Jewel Newman of Camden; sisters, Martha Scott, Bobbie Jernigan, Donna Ingram, Lockett James, and Cindy Smith; brothers, Joe James, Eddie James, and Harry James; and 5 grandchildren.
