NEWBERRY – A memorial service for Barbara Anne Abercrombie, 78, will be held Sunday, July 31, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Karen Radcliff will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 1005 College Street, Newberry, S.C. 29108. Mrs. Abercrombie died Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Alvin Abercrombie and Miriam Oglsby Abercrombie Turner. She retired from Shakespeare and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughters, Linda Diane Deal of Gaston and Judy Wright (Jerry) of Cross Hill, S.C.; sister, Jean Parker of Tampa, Fla.; grandchildren, Clayton Wright, Nikki Wright, Constance Dodmead, and Crystal Olfs; and a great-grandson, Zachary Aubert. She was predeceased by sons, Gary Deal and Carroll Deal; and a sister, Marjorie Harrison.
