ELGIN – Funeral service for Vermell Opah Watts, 79, will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ken Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Watts, wife of the late Huey Watts, died Sunday, July 10, 2011. Born in Manning, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Frison and Elizabeth Dubose. Surviving are daughters, Delores Mazurkiewicz, Ramona Reynolds, and Jennifer Watts; son, Gene Hopper; grandchildren, David Sanlin, Stephanie Sanlin, Renee Rhodes, John Rhodes, Elian Gomez, Jerry Sanlin, Donnie Alexander, Robin Weaver, Audry Burkett, Vikki Hopper, Heather Johnson, Don Johnson, and Joey Hopper; great-grandchildren, Bert Rhodes, Paige Rhodes, Dusty Rhodes, Harvey Rhodes, Carlee Roper, Kaiden Johnson, Abigail Sanlin, Gabrielle Sanlin, John Sanlin, David Sanlin Jr., Christopher Weaver, Brittany Weaver, Brandi Price, Vikki Lee Nelson, Victor Goodyear, Jade Goodyear, Samantha Schster, Austin Berkett, and Mejester Berkett; great great-grandchildren, Tripp Rhodes and Gracie Rhodes; niece and nephew, Jesse Carter and Jerry Carter.
