Elgin- MMC(SS) Roger L. Brock died on June 2nd at Warriors Walk in the Dorn VA Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on September 10, 1952, he was the eldest son of Earl Lee and Dorothy Eunice Wilson Brock. He retired from the U.S. Navy Submarine Service after 20 years and retired a second time from the City of Camden. Surviving in his wife Kathleen S. Brock; sons, Anthony R. and Maxwell J. Brock of Elgin, and Michael L. Brock (Alissa D.); daughter, Shana L. Ford (Jason T.); grandchildren, Abigail Rose, Olivia Emma Lee, Chance Michael Maxwell and Kayla Marie; his father, Earl Brock; brothers, Dennis (Sandy) Brock, David Brock, Randy Brock of Crawfordsville, IN, and Paul Brock (Evelyn) of Elletsville IN; sisters, Vickie (Steve) Tirtel of Hammond, IN and Sherry (Eric) Conkright of Crawfordsville IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff from 5:00 -7:00 PM Thursday June 9, 2011. Military Honors will be rendered at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Friday June 10, 2011.
