CASSATT – Funeral service for Laverne Nelson Lynch, Sr., 68, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, Camden. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Mr. Lynch died Sunday, May 8, 2011. Born in Darlington, he was a son of Mary Lila Hutchinson Lynch and Thornwell Lynch. He was former owner of Lynch’s Drywall. He enjoyed fishing recycling aluminum and helping others in need. Surviving are his mother, Mary Lynch of Camden; children, Kenny Lynch, Troy Dye, Jerry Rodgers, Laverne Lynch, Jr., Samuel Mitchell Lynch, and Mary Elizabeth Lynch; brother, Samuel Mitchell Lynch; sisters, Retha Geraldine Burnham, Annett Robinson, Ida Mae Williams, and Martha Elizabeth Arledge; and 17 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Cindy Lynch; and brother, Richard Lynch.
