Obituary of Billy R. Hinson

LUGOFF – Funeral service for Billy R. Hinson, 69, will be held Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. Rev. Joe Stines and Rev. Charles Roark will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m .at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to El-Bethel Faith Community Church or Southern Care Hospice. Mr. Hinson died Wednesday, March 2, 2011. Born in Lugoff, he was a son of the late John and Mimmie Mattox Hinson. He was a retired carpenter and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Marie Harris Hinson; sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Edie Hinson of Elgin, and Randy and Brenda Hinson of Lugoff; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Sonny Boatwright of Elgin; brothers, Marion Hinson, John T. Hinson, and Clyde Hinson; sister, Emily Maude Watts; grandchildren, Michael Hino, Jason Hino, Ricky Hinson Jr., Travis Hinson, Rob Lyons III (Julie), Heather Boatwright, Kaegan Reynolds, and Olivia Hinson; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Hino, Joseph Hino, Blake Hino, and Landon Lyons. He was predeceased by 15 brothers; and 1 sister.
