Obituary of Mary E. Cook

ELGIN – Graveside service for Mary Elmeda Cook, 84, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Lewis will officiate. Friends may visit the family at their home. Memorials may be made to SPCA. Mrs. Cook, wife of the late Raymond L. Cook, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Born in Knoxville, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Homer and Dora Noe Stallings. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Helen C. and Al Register of Elgin; grandchildren, Kim Motley Tyson (Ronny) of Elgin, Brint Motley (Erica) of Lexington, and Chris Register (Tina) of Elgin; great-grandchildren, Madison Motley (her special granddaughter), Amy Woolwine, Brandon Hopkins, Cole Motley, and Alex Register; great-great grandchildren, Brianna and Landon Woolwine, Hanna, Hailey and Addison Hopkins; brother, Jay O. Stallings of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Jimmy Cook (Martha) of Camden; sisters-in-law, Francis Cook (who was a very special person to Mrs. Cook) and Sarah Cook, both of Winnsboro; two special nieces, Paulette Lewis and Marie Evans; special cousin, Suzy Weddington of Knoxville, Tenn.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Lloyd Stallings and Robert Stallings; and sister, Lillie Mae Boatwright. The family expresses a special thank you to Derice Dehon whom they love very much for being there for the family.
