ELGIN - Funeral Services for Gene Adam Taylor, 93, will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, with burial to follow in God’s Lighthouse Church Cemetery. Rev. Dave Smith will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, December 15, 2010. Born in Aquone, NC, he was the son of the late James Burch and Etta Smith Taylor. He served in the United States Army. Surviving are his sons, William C. Taylor of Elgin, and James B. Taylor of Ridgeway; daughters, Linda R. Fease of Hephzibah, Ga., Helen Payne of Marble, N.C., and Rebecca Gymer of Aiken, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and sister, Mamie Taylor Pierce of Elgin. He was predeceased by 1 grandchild; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.
