COLUMBIA – Funeral service for Meredith Taylor Holland, 65, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Baptist Church, Camden with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Keith Coates will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Holland died Sunday, December 12, 2010. Born in Suffolk, Va., he was the son of the late Jasper Land and Annie Mavis Taylor Holland. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Army as a Sergeant. He was a member of the DAV, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Linda Claire Holland; sons, Jimmy Hudgens of Alabama, Robert Jason Holland (Erin) of Elgin, and Michael Joshua Holland (Ann Marie) of Camden; daughters, Karen Morris (Daryl) of Fort Mill, S.C. and Jennifer Lynn Holland Claypool (Justin) of Ogdun, Utah; brother, Jasper Land Holland, Jr.; and grandchildren, Nick T. Holland, Jacob E. Claypool, McKenzie Holland, Joshua T. Holland, Peyton Taylor Holland, John Carter Morris, James Morris, Charles Evans Morris, and Camden Hudgens.
