CASSATT – Funeral service for Linnie H. Rodgers, 95, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Steve Leigh and Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mrs. Rodgers, wife of the late Manning C. Rodgers, died Sunday, December 12, 2010. Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late John William Zimmerman and Mamie Beatrice McCaskill Hearon. She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crocheting. Surviving are her daughters, Shelby Watts (Joe) of Cassatt, and Grace West of Kershaw; sons, Clyburn Rodgers of Cassatt and William “Bootsey” Rodgers (Vivian) of Cassatt; sisters, Sarah Taylor of Cassatt and Theo Branham of St. Matthews; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, James Manning Rodgers and Richard Wayne Rodgers; sisters, Louise Horton, Kathleen Hinson, Annie B. Anderson, Nellie H. Hayes, Mary Branham, and Grace Frazier; and brothers, James Hearon and William Hearon.
