CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Douglas Featherstone Pitts, 51, will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Pitts died Thursday, June 13, 2013. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Isaac Post “Jolly” Pitts Sr. and Carolyn Lindler Pitts. He enjoyed camping, horseback riding, hunting and cooking. Surviving are his wife, Gayle Godbold Pitts; daughters, Erin Godbold Adams (Brian Sr.) of Lugoff and Amanda Godbold Johnson (SSG Jonathan) of Seattle, Wash.; step-mother, Margaret Myers Pitts of Camden; brothers, Stanley Anshus (Jennie) and Isaac Pitts Jr. (Michelle); sisters, Dr. Ann Quattlebaum, Nancy Johnson (Van) and Becky Cheatham (Richard); and grandchildren, Brian Adams Jr. and Abbigayle Adams.
