CAMDEN-Graveside service for Betty Mixon Merrell, 79, will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Richard Cameron and Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Mrs. Merrell, wife of the late Thomas L. Merrell, Jr., died Monday, August 30, 2010. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Henry Thomas Tyson and Annie Elizabeth Scott Tyson Anderson. She enjoyed cooking and working cross words. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Lake M. and Stephen S. Strong of Cassatt; sisters, Eva Napper of Camden and Annie Lee Riggins of Camden; grandchildren, Cody Strong of Rock Hill, S.C., and Brandon Strong of Columbia; and many nieces and nephews.
