LUGOFF - Funeral service for Donald Gray Baker, 54, will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Rowan Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Phillip McCoy will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Palmetto Health Richland Children’s Hospital. Mr. Baker died Sunday, August 1, 2010. Born in Lee County, N.C., he was a son of Virginia McNeill Baker and the late Thaddeus Baker. He was formerly employed with the Hoke County Sheriff’s Department, Hope Mills Police Department, M.W. Manufacturing and worked 8 years for Sun Belt Coca-Cola where he was manager of the Cold Drink for Columbia, Greenville and Fayetteville. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Terri T. Baker; mother of Laurel Hill, N.C.; sons, Matthew Baker and his wife, Jerrie of Elgin, Jonathan Baker and his wife, Katrina of Savannah, Ga., and James Baker of Lugoff; daughter, Jennifer Baker-Goad and her husband, Walt of N. Augusta; brother, Thaddeus Ray Baker and his wife, Violet of Ellerbe, N.C.; sister, Elizabeth Ann Larkin and her husband, James of Laurel Hill, N.C.; and grandchildren, Triston Goad, Aiden Goad, and Gage Baker.
