LUGOFF-Graveside service for Robert Minter, 80, will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in Westview Cemetery, Monticello, Ga. The family will receive friends Saturday 6:30 -8:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held on Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Monticello, Ga. Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church or American Cancer Society. Mr. Minter died Thursday, July 29, 2010. Born in Monticello, Ga., he was a son of the late Joe P. and Lois Powers Minter. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from SCANA in 1995 after 14 years. Mr. Minter was a member of the Masons Chicora Lodge No. 366 A.F.M., VFW and The American Legion Post 0511. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Mildred G. Minter; son, Joseph Carlton Williams; daughter, Linda Sue Brand; grandchildren, Suzanne Poland and Jeremy Brand; and great-grandchildren, Bailee, Justin and Jared Poland, and Michael John “M.J.” Brand. He was predeceased by brother, Joe Minter, Jr.; sister, Martha Dumas; and maternal grandmother, Oma “Mammie” Powers
