ELGIN – Services for Alexander Joseph Palumbo, 68, will be held in Farmingdale, N.Y. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Mr. Palumbo died Tuesday, July 20, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late John Eugene and Catherine Abbatiello Palumbo. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Army. Surviving are his sister, Barbara E. Simpkins (Lewis) of Baldwin, N.Y.; brother, Gene Palumbo (Collene) of Oceanside, N.Y.; nephews, John and Stephen Simpkins; and 3 great-nieces; and 1 great-nephew.
