LUGOFF - Funeral service for Christopher Tanner Hayes, 21, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at El-Bethel Faith Community Church with burial to follow in Mizpah Baptist Church, Camden. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 4-6 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to El-Bethel Faith Community Church. Tanner died Thursday, July 8, 2010. Born in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of Lisa Marie Mathis Moak and the late Christopher Dale Hayes. A 2007 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School, he was a student at Midlands Technical College. He was employed with Cobblestone Park in Blythewood and enjoyed fishing, playing with his dog, and spending time with his fiancée. He was a member of El-Bethel Faith Community Church. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Lisa and Steve Moak of Lugoff; fiancée, Kirsten Smith of Columbia; sisters, Kristy Moak Samuel (Nikki), Tabitha Hayes Staples (Tim), and Stephanie Moak Belton (Lance); brothers, Adam Hayes and Brandon Hayes; paternal grandmother, Thedus Shealy; maternal grandparents, Charles Allen Mathis, and Denny and Jake Moak; nephews, Jaylen and Grayson Samuel; and nieces, Summer and Laken Staples. He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, David Shealy; and maternal grandmother, Dorothy Dononvan.
