CAMDEN - Funeral service for Silas Allen Boone, Jr., 78, will be held at Friday at 11:00 a.m. Emmanuel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Atkerson will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1643 McRae Road, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Boone died Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Born in Boonetown, he was a son of the late Silas A. Boone Sr. and Eliza Kirby Boone. He retired from Kendall Cotton Mill. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his family. Mr. Boone was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Annette P. Boone; son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Susan Boone of Cassatt; daughter and son-in-law, Ann B. and Shawn Bass of Camden; brothers, Paul Boone (Betsy), Daniel Boone (Mary), and Tom Boone; sisters, Mildred Mitchell, Myrtle Barrett (Richard), and Margie Branham; grandchildren, Leanne Blalock (Seth), Stefan Bass (Tiffany), Amber Bass (Jonathan Carter), and Rebecca Boone; and great-grandchildren, Carleigh Wallace, Bailey Rabon, Alan Bass Jr., and Bella-Grace Bass. He was predeceased by son, John Allen Boone; brother, Sammie Boone; and sisters, Merita Kelly and Martha Carter.
