COLUMBIA-Graveside service for Jody Herbert Porter, 38, will be held Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in Porter Family Cemetery, Elgin. Rev. Nancy Brazell will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Porter died Sunday, June 6, 2010. Born in Columbia, he was the son of Billie Roberts Porter and the late Jody Herbert Porter, Sr. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was an outdoorsmen. Surviving are his wife, Denise Porter; mother of Columbia; son, Hayden Porter of Columbia; step-son, Austin Triguero; and good friends, Tony Johnston and Tonya Martin.
