CASSATT - Funeral service for Gene A. Miller, 65, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Jack Cobb will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Miller died Saturday, April 24, 2010. Born in Florence, he was son of the late Allen Alford and Lillie Harrell Miller. He was a member of Mt. Hebron Freewill Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #325. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Eloise A. Hammond; sons and daughters-in-law, Troy Ray and Dorenda Miller of Elgin, and Gene Allen and Regina Miller of Timmonsville, S.C.; daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn Elaine and Johnny Williams of Cassatt, and Julie and Tom Jones of Kennesaw, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Jack Weatherford of Florence, S.C., Wink and Cecil Storey of Eufaula, Ala., and Joley and Wayne Coltrane of Newberry; grandchildren, Jay Metts Jr., Daniel Miller, Ashley Metts, Brooke Miller, Landon Miller, Matt Lee, Cody Lee, Thomas Jones, Paul Jones, Anthony Jones, Matthew Jones, Nicole Jones, Samantha Jones, and Christa Boykin; and great-granddaughter, Madison Metts.
