LUGOFF - Funeral service for Jeremy Alexander Nanton, 23, will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Unity United Methodist Church, 1332 Fort Jackson Road, Lugoff, S.C. 29078, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Augustus Rodgers will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Unity United Methodist Church Youth Fund. Jeremy died Friday, April 9, 2010. Born in Fort Ord, Calif., he was a son of Cornelius Emmanuel Nanton and Rita Laverne Braithwaite Nanton. A 2005 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School, he was a student at Central Carolina Technical College and was currently employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Camden. He enjoyed playing basketball. Surviving are his parents of Lugoff; brothers, Jeffrey Emmanuel Nanton of Louisville, Ky., and Joseph Selwyn Nanton of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandmother, Irene James of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; and grandfather, Joel Meyers of Miami, Fla.
