LUGOFF-Funeral service for Miriam Smith Epps, 80, will be held Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Lugoff First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Greg Sweet and Rev. David Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, S.C. Mrs. Epps, devoted wife of the late Thomas Edwin Epps, Sr., died Tuesday, March 23, 2010. Born in Kingstree, she was a daughter of the late Henry Ollie and Agnes Boyd Smith. She was a long standing member of Lugoff First Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Dr. Thomas Edwin Epps, Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., and Timothy William Epps and his wife, Cathy of Blythewood; and grandchildren, William Epps and Brenen Epps. She was predeceased by brothers, H.O. Smith, Joseph Smith, and Leslie Smith; and sisters, Florrie Ward and Gertrude Bass. Memorials may be made to Lugoff First Baptist Church Building Fund.
