BETHUNE - Funeral service for Nellie Grace Horton Christenbury, 84, will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Timrod Baptist Church in Bethune. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery West, Charlotte. Rev. David Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Timrod Baptist Church, 4227 Timrod Road, Bethune, S.C. 29009. Mrs. Christenbury, wife of the late Cecil Craig Christenbury, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007. Born in Bethune, she was the daughter of the late Mack H. and Lina Mariah Shirley Horton. She was a 1940 graduate of Bethune High School and a graduate of Charlotte Business College. She retired from General Electric Medical Systems Division as a billing clerk after 34 years. Mrs. Christenbury was a member of the Goldenrod and Bethune Woman’s Club. She enjoyed gardening, watercolor painting, reading and spending time with her family. She was a member of Timrod Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Carol Andrews of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Leslie Horton of Bethune; grandchildren, Billy Ray Andrews, Christine Andrews, and Brandon Rose; and a great grandson, Anthony Devin Edward Andrews.
