ELGIN - Funeral service for Jessie Lucille Nelson Stockman, 85, will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Baptist Church Cemetery, Elgin. Rev. Dr. Dan Griffin and Rev. Dr. Tommy Hudleston will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 998 Tookie Doo Lane, Elgin, S.C. 29045. Mrs. Stockman, wife of the late Wylie Clinton Stockman, died Saturday, March 6, 2010. Born in Blaney, she was a daughter of the late John Dessasure Nelson and Della Jackson Nelson. She retired from Shakespeare. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting and cooking. She is survived by her sister, Juanita N. Ross of Lugoff; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Nancy Nelson of Elgin; sister-in-law, Mary Nelson of Elgin; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Walter Knapp Harris; sister, Victoria Rodriquez; and brothers, David E. Nelson, John Nelson, Franklin Nelson, and William Nelson.
