WESTVILLE-Funeral service for Kendrid B. “K.B.” Johnson, 77, will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Craigan Blankenship and Rev. Ed Stokes will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, PO Box 488, Westville, S.C. 29175. Mr. Johnson died Sunday, January 10, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Garfield, Ga., he was the son of the late George W. and Donah Burke Johnson. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Military Police Officer. He retired from DuPont where he was a supervisor. Mr. Johnson was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and dedicated himself to his church family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Vera Juanita Howle Outen Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Tammie Johnson of Lugoff; step-children, Debbie Carter (Jimmy) of Lexington, and Donnie Outen (Wynne) of Lugoff; grandchildren, Andy Johnson and Meredith Johnson; and step-grandchildren, Jay and Gil Outen, Aimee Pickering, Jennifer Craft, Sarah Carter, Leslie, Britton, and Donnie Outen, Jr. He was predeceased by his first wife, Anna Sue Becton Johnson; daughter, Janet Johnson; and step-son, Van Outen.
