Obituary of Juanita Rembert Sanders
CAMDEN - Funeral service for Juanita Sanders, 88, will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, Hagood, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Ascension, P.O. Box 129, Rembert, S.C. 29128 .
Mrs. Sanders died Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Born in Sumter County, she was a daughter of the late William Richard and Juanita Hoyt Rembert. A graduate of Draughn’s Business College, she retired as an office manager with Georgia Pacific. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting and caring for her family. An avid Clemson Fan, she enjoyed cheering for her Tigers. She was active in the Republican Party.
Mrs. Sanders was a former member of Church of Holy Comforter in Sumter, and a member of St. Michael and All Angel’s Episcopal Church, Columbia.
Surviving are her sons, Crawford E. Sanders, III, and his wife, Bobbie of Little River, and William R. Sanders and his wife, Faye of Camden; sisters, Florence Wright of Columbia, and Mary Jane Dinkins of Sumter; grandchildren, Phoebe Mendez of New York City, N.Y., Crawford “Ladd” Sanders, IV of Greenville, S.C., David Sanders of Charleston, S.C., Knowlton “Rip” Sanders of Columbia, William R. “Shane” Sanders, Jr. of Camden, Christopher B. “Chris” Sanders of Camden and Heather O. Sanders of Columbia; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers, Richard, James Freeman and Harry Rembert, Sr.
