Obituary of Henry E Ray
LUGOFF - Funeral service for Henry E. “Red” Ray, 81, will be held Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Charles Roark and Rev. Wayne Flowers will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home.
Mr. Ray, husband of the late Mary E. Corbett Ray, died Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Born in Lugoff, he was a son of the late Leslie Ray and Emily Jackson Ray. He retired from Cogdill Tool. He was an avid fisherman, and loved to sing and play his guitar. He also, loved his motorcycle.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, David and Idell Ray of Lugoff; daughters, Patsy Ray of Camden and Sherrie Ray of Lugoff; grandson, Kelvin Ray of Lugoff; granddaughter, Mary Ann of Cassatt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Geneva and Floyd Hinson, and Shirley and Mike Branham, all of Lugoff; and his four legged friend, Crystal. He was predeceased by a son, Roger Dale; sisters, Margaret Branham and Jeanette Smith; brothers, Bill, Raymond, and Donald.
The family will be at the home of Geneva and Floyd Hinson, 1193 Longtown Road, Lugoff, S.C. 29078.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scheuer and Dr. Babcock and the staff of Springdale Health Care for the care they gave Henry.
