Obituary of Ronnie Catoe

LUGOFF-Funeral service for Ronnie “Monk” Catoe, 58, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Baptist Church with burial to follow in Hardshell Cemetery. The Rev. George Autry and Rev. Bill Dulaney will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Mr. Catoe went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Born in Monroe, N.C., he was a son of Bonnie Jean Motley Catoe and the late Eugene James Catoe. He was 1969 graduate of Camden High School where he played football and received the name “Monk”. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Mr. Catoe retired from Mack Truck. He was a loyal member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a charter member of Harvest Baptist Church and was a dedicated husband, daddy and Pa Pa. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Wanda Walker Catoe; mother of Patrick, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Nicki Catoe of Lugoff; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Brian Richardson of Conway; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Stephanie Catoe; sister, Pat Fuller; and grandchildren, Mehdi Catoe El-Kheddiwi, Taylor Richardson, and Walker Richardson. He was predeceased by a sister, Jean Ann King.
