Obituary of George Edward Morgan

ELGIN - A memorial service for George Edward Morgan, Jr., 71, will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Paul Miles and Rev. George Cashwell will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Memorials may be made to Highway Pentecostal Holiness Church or the American Cancer Society. Mr. Morgan entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 29, 2009. Born in Louisville, Ky., he was a son of the late George Edward Morgan Sr. and Hazel Mae Guest Morgan. He retired in 2004 after 24 years with Ceratizit where he was vice-president of sales and marketing and also served in the Army Reserves. He was a Mason and an avid horseman who cared for his animals before caring for himself. Mr. Morgan was a craftsman settled for nothing less than perfection. He enjoyed fishing , boating, hunting and reading his bible. Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Carmen Lebron Morgan; daughters and sons-in-law, Vickey Ann and Joe Morris Morgan of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Sharon Jeanette and Mark Crawford of Louisville, Ky.; sons and daughters-in-law, Steven Ray and Trish Morgan of Naples, Fla., and Donald Edward and Darnell Morgan of Louisville, Ky.; step-children, Jahaira (Charles) Cacace of Elgin, and Carlos (Angie) Rivera of Columbia; brothers, Jerry Morgan, Carl Morgan, and Charlie Morgan; sister, Mary Morgan; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He enters into eternal life with brother, Bobby Morgan; and sisters, Patsy Payne and Betty Milby and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Guest and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan.
