Obituary of Almena Miles Boykin
LUGOFF - Funeral service for Almena Miles Boykin, 90, will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at St. John United Methodist Church with burial in St. Paul/Miles Family Cemetery. Rev. Gerald Lord will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Boykin, wife of the late Herbert F. Boykin, died Sunday, March 18, 2007. Born in Lugoff, she was a daughter of the late John V. and Marie Hood Miles. She was one of the oldest living members of St. John’s United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Bessie Parker Sunday School Class. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and loved her family.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry F. and Lois A. Boykin of Lexington, and Claude H. and Debra Boykin of Lugoff; grandchildren, Bryan E. Branham, Katrina Branham Hall, Kevin W. Branham, Laurel A. Boykin, Renee E. Boykin, Jennifer B. Boykin, Ami B. Teague, C. Herbie Boykin, Jr., Robert L. Boykin; great-grandchildren, Bryana N. Branham, Bryan E. Branham II, Caleb E. Branham E. Colin Teague, Austin L. Teague, B. Chase Teague, Sarah R. Boykin, Darren A. Boykin, Zacharie Boykin, Halley Boykin, Bryson D. Burgess, and Gavin T. Boykin; and a great-great-granddaughter, Brinley L. Branham. She was predeceased by daughter, Marie E. Branham; son, Warren C. Boykin; granddaughters, Alecia M. Branham and Julie C. Boykin, five brothers, and seven sisters.
