CAMDEN - Funeral Services for Doris Kennington Eddings,78, widow of L. Bruce Eddings, will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Steve Lee will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 12:30-2:00 p.m prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Leukemia Society. Mrs. Eddings died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, following an illness. Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Levin Melvin and Maggie C. Kennington. She was retired from DuPont, and currently worked at CVS in the Pharmacy Department. She was an avid bowler. She will be truly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. She is survived by hers sons, John B. Eddings of Manning, Stephen L. Eddings of Camden and Scott Gainey of Camden who she lovingly thought of as a son; and sister, Ruby Powers. She was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy Kennington, T.B. Kennington, and Bose Kennington; and sisters, Sally Kennington, Mae Eddings, Marion Cumalander, Sue Nell Hornsby and Elma Stokes.
