KERSHAW - Funeral service for Clara Reece Bowers, 84, will be held Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Heath Springs. Rev. Greg Sweet and Rev. Curtis Cameron will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to Lugoff First Baptist Church or Hospice of Kershaw County. Mrs. Bowers died Monday, March 30, 2009. Born in Lancaster County, she was a daughter of the late William Reece and Clara Beckham Rutledge Marshall. She was a member of Lugoff First Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and a compassionate caregiver of family members. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, and cooking. Surviving are her husband of 10 years, Reece Q. Bowers; son, Alan Justus of Heath Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Gail J. and Bill Rogora of Kershaw and Lisa and J.D. Prosser of Kershaw; step-children, Wayne Bowers and his wife, Jan of Hanahan, S.C., Dickie Bowers and his wife, Anne of Lugoff, Gayle White of Lugoff, and Randy Bowers and his wife, Mandy of Lugoff; brother, Keith Marshall; sisters, Annie Lee Catoe, Peggy Blackmon, Betty Cauthen, and Molly Moree; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; and numerous step great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, J.B. Justus; brothers, Wallace Marshall and Oscar Claude Marshall; and step-son, Jerry Bowers.
