KERSHAW - Funeral services for Gary Glenn Ray, 47, will be held Friday at 5:00 p.m. at House of Prayer with Open Arms Church, Kershaw with burial to follow in Boonetown Cemetery. Rev. Donald Barrett will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mr. Ray died Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Born in Camden, S.C., he was son of Claude Ray, Jr. and Frances Griffin and George Munnerlyn. He was grandson of the late Claude and Viola Ray and Johnny and Lizzy Griffin. He served in the United States National Guard. He was a member of House of Prayer with Open Arms Church and a member of Kershaw County Men’s Prayer Warriors. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Furniss Ray; sons, Little Gary Glenn Ray, Jr., Matthew Gardner, and Mark Gardner, all of the home; brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Mary Ray, Johnnie and Patricia Ray, Jimmy and Cindy Ray, all of Cassatt, Mr. and Mrs. Tim Ray, and Mr. and Mrs. Preston “Red” Ray; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa and Teddy Sims and Carol and Mark Coates.
