CASSATT - Funeral service for Monie Louis Thompson, 51, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in the Old Sawneys Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 7-8 p.m .at the funeral home. Mr. Thompson died Friday, March 6, 2009. Born in Ardmore, Okla., he was a son of the late Woodrow Spencer and Jessie Mae Dinkins Thompson. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Surviving are his wife, Frances Thompson; children, Monie Louis Thompson, Jr. and his wife, JoAnn of Kileen, Texas, Robert Lee Thompson of Sumter, Christina Thompson of Sumter, and Timothy Thompson and his wife, Kelly of Greenville, S.C.; step-children, Jeremy Chad McDaniel and his wife, Melissa of Dawsonville, Ga., and Patricia Rene Reed of Dawsonville, Ga.; brothers, Woodrow Spencer Thompson of West Columbia and Donald Odel Thompson of Neb.; sister, Janice Housand of Conway; grandson, Nathaniel Thompson; and 6 step-grandchildren, Dakota, Haley, Erica, Shawn, Kevin, and Matthew. He was predeceased by a sister, Donna Schweikert.
