FREDERICKSBURG, VA-Funeral service for Sarah Campbell Lucas, 92, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, S.C. with burial to follow in Blaney Baptist Church Cemetery, Elgin, S.C. Rev. Philip Blankenship will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Mary Washington Hospice, C/O Mary Washington Hospital Foundation, 2600 Mary Washington Boulevard, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. Mrs. Lucas, wife of the late Howard Raymond Lucas, died Saturday, February 7, 2009. Born in Blaney, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Thomas Belton and Oza Lee Ross Campbell. She was a Registered Nurse and retired from Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, N.J. She was a member of the Pitman Methodist Church and Bible Study Class 33. Surviving are her daughters, Carole A. McEnery of Lake Anna, Va.. and Barbara J. Lucas of Springfield, Va.; brother, Willie Campbell of Lugoff, S.C.; sisters, Bessie Parker of Elgin, S.C. and Dora Pernell of High Point, N.C.; 4 grandchildren, Richard Wear of Woodbury Heights, N.J., Donald Wear of Lillington, N.C., Michael McEnery of Pitman, N.J., and Deborah Fitzpatrick of Winooski, Vt.; 8 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
