CAMDEN - Funeral service for Hollis T. “Tom” Catoe, 59, will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Condy Richardson and Buster Rush will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hermitage Baptist Church, Arise and Build Fund. Mr. Catoe died Friday, January 16, 2009. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Hollis T. Catoe Sr. and Macie Twitty Catoe. A graduate of Camden High School Class of 1967, he was an Eagle Scout. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Navy. Mr. Catoe was a Project Representative with B.P. Barber. He was a Mason and a member of Lodge 29 where he was Past Master and a member of the Jamil Shrine Temple. He was a member of the American Legion Post 17. Tom was and avid hunter and fisherman and a member of Rabbit Pen Hunting Club. Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Dale Creel Catoe; daughter, Caroline Rennhack of Aiken, S.C.; step-son, Lee Grier of Pamplico; sister, Bridget Satterfield of Laurens; grandchildren, Joseph Rennhack, Abbey Rennhack, Sarah Rennhack, and Sydney Kelly; a special nephew, Will Byrd; and his loyal companions, Slick and Bailey. He was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Rose “Bett” Kelly.
