LUGOFF- Graveside service for Myrtle Rush Thompkins, 82, will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Quaker Cemetery, Camden. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at the Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Mrs. Thompkins, wife of the late Porter Lee Thompkins, Sr., died Sunday, January 11, 2009. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Mable Barry Rush. Surviving are her sons, Porter L. Thompkins, Jr., and his wife, Patty of Sumter, and Thomas Randall Thompkins and his wife, Dee Dee of Myrtle Beach; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Maples of Lugoff; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Donald Thompkins, Michael Thompkins, and David Thompkins; and sister, Velma Rawls.
