ELGIN – Funeral service for Rembert James Ross, 83, will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Reese Byrd and the Rev. Ann Byrd will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Ross passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland. Born in Blaney, he was the son of the late Walter Benjamin and Eva Irene Ross. He was a member of Lugoff Christian Ministries (The Way). He enjoyed farming and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Ruby Elizabeth Ross; daughter, Rebecca Hostetter (Dan) of Elgin; sisters, Margie Branham of Elgin, Nancy Smith (Bobby) of Lugoff, and Betty Miles (Albert) of Elgin; and grandchildren, Jake Hostetter (Tina), Brandon Hostetter and Hunter Hostetter. He was predeceased by his sister, Faye Thomas.
