CAMDEN – A service to celebrate the life of Cleo Wayne Johnson, 77, will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The Rev. Jerry Lewis will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Project. Mr. Johnson passed away at KershawHealth surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Cleo Talmadge Johnson and Kathleen Smith Johnson. He served in the United States Navy and retired from DuPont. He was a Mason and Shriner and a former member of the Camden Jaycees. He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Jacqueline Jean Lancaster Johnson; son, Charles Andrew “Chuck” Johnson (Mary) of Elgin; daughter, Melanie Arline Medeiros (Gordon “Gordy”) of Camden; daughter-in-law, Laura Johnson of Columbia; sister, Joyce Johnson (Gerald); brother, Donnie Johnson (Kathy); 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Talmadge “Tal” Johnson; and sister, Linda Compton.
