ELGIN – A celebration of life service for Ronald Gene “Ron” Meadows, 70, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church. The Rev. Ken Jackson will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Mr. Meadows passed away Monday, August 6, 2018. Born in Beckley, W.V., he was a son of the late Lacy and Eula Beth Meadows. Mr. Meadows served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from General Motors and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Mr. Meadows enjoyed metal work and hunting. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Linda Lou Johnson Meadows; children, Scott Meadows (Victoria) of Elgin, Kevin Meadows (Keri) of Brandon, FL; brothers, Richard Meadows (Delora) of Beckley, W.V., James “Jim” Meadows (Tracy) of Jumping Branch, W.V.; sisters, Patti Morum (Roy) of Ghent, W.V., Karen Heaton of Oak Island, N.C.; and grandchildren, Courtney, Chase, Evan and Raelyn Meadows.
