CAMDEN – Funeral service for Mae Bell Benson, 81, will be held on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at Edwards Chapel AME Zion Church with burial to follow in Cedar Cemetery. Ms. Benson passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Ben Tillman and Amanda Alexander Benson. She was a member of Edwards Chapel AME Zion Church where she faithfully attend and sang in the choir and served as a missionary. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking. Surviving are her children, Juanita Benson, Mary (Larry) Alexander, Beverly (Paul) Anderson, Deloris (Robert) Royster, Michael Benson, James Benson and Morrow (Andrienne) Benson; her sister children that she raised after her sister’s death, Bennie Benson, Dorothy (Earl) Wade and Sandra Benson; brother, Bennie (Betty) Benson; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda B. Wood; sons of her sister, Charles Benson and Henry Benson; brother, George Benson; and sisters, Amanda Benson and Ida Neal.
