HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Funeral service for Ruth Naomi Smith, 81, formerly of Camden, S.C., will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, S.C., with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery, Camden, S.C. Pastor Shelly Hardy will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Ms. Smith passed away at home on Friday, July 20, 2018. Born in Camden, S.C., she was the daughter of the late William Isiah and Hannah Gray Smith. She was a member of St. Mark Church of God in Christ in Camden, S.C. She enjoyed cooking and being with family. Surviving are her daughter, Pamela M. Burgess; brother, Jesse Smith; and 6 grandchildren. She was predeceased by daughter, Carol Ann Smith Hollis siblings, Gertrude, Julia, Mary, Emma, Detroit, William and George; and great-grandson, Jah’Ceon Amir Washington.
