LUGOFF- A celebration of life service for Jo Ann Hipkiss, 69, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter. Mrs. Hipkiss passed away Tuesday, April 09, 2013. Born in Claremore, OK, she was the daughter of Seth Jinks and Ruby Sumter Montgomery. Mrs. Hipkiss was a member of Union Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and loved her dogs, Baby, Shasta, and Stretch. Surviving are her husband and companion of 28 years, Donald Lee Hipkiss; daughter, Dierdre Andrews (Gene) of Elgin; sons, Ronald Branham of Elgin, Thomas Branham (Lee Ann) of Elgin, Herbert Branham (Gina) of Elgin; step-son, Eric Hipkiss (Kristen) of Elgin; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harvey Jinks (Patricia) of Kenwood, WA. She was predeceased by a sister Jane McGinnis.
