To the family,
I send my deepest sympathy to you all. I attended CMA during the time Joe was there. Through the time we went to school together, I remember him as a very kind and sincere person. I know you are much saddened by his passing, but please be reassured that he is in a wonderful place now, and has the Lord Jesus as his guide. You have been his earthly family and he, I'm sure , loved you very much. Be at peace, knowing he is with his Father now, who is taking very good care of him. God bless you all.
In Christ

You are the last obituary on the list dad. It won't be long before you are forgotten by those who did not have the privilege to know you. Rest assured dad that those who did know and love you will never forget the lessons you taught us. So long dad see you soon

Remembering Cousin Joey when we were growing up together as “”Brousins” as we called each other. I especially remember our escapades during the flood of 1955. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the Parsons during this difficult time. It is our hope that you will find comfort in your memories of time spent together.

I knew Joe as Big Dad, the name my son Connor called his Grandfather. Joe was a very kind, compassionate, soft-spoken man who was not afraid to crack a joke or two! Joe's passing breaks my heart for his family. Rest in Peace, Joe!

Dear Judi, Scott, Brad and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We have lost a truly great man. My memories of him will always bring a smile and a chuckle. I will always remember a solid, sensible, easy-going gentleman with a wry smile, quick and terrific sense of humor -- he had to have a sense of humor to put up with all of us when we were growing up, especially as teenagers! -- and a very sharp mind. It's always hard to lose one of the good people, and Joe Parsons was absolutely one of the best.
My thoughts and poor sinner's prayers are with all of you. God bless.

I’ll never forget the good memories I have of my grandfather. He was Joe to everybody, but he was Big Dad to me, and I fondly remember he and my Me Ma coming to visit me in Charleston when I was a child, almost like clockwork every other weekend and taking me places and spending quality time with me. I could ask him about anything and get an educated response, which made conversations of anything from college football to politics, an interesting conversation. I loved the way he cared for my grandmother and worked hard his whole life to provide for his family. Lord knows he’s helped me in a pinch, and I’m sure many other people can say the same thing. I’ll miss my Big Dad, and I’ll hold onto the memories I have for the rest of my life. I know he’s resting easy now.

As a friend of Brad's I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Joe on several occasions. It was apparent how much family meant to him. You can always tell a man's lasting impression by the lessons his children learn from him and pass down to their own children. Prayers to all.

I just want to say, I never had the privilege of meeting Joe. I do, however, know Brad, and if Brad is any reflection of his father, Joe was a fine man. Brad, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know all too well what you are going trough. The hurt never goes away, but it will dull over time. What helps me the most is just remembering the good times and knowing my father is no longer in pain. Find the memories that make you smile and hold on to them. I'm sure that's what Joe would want everyone to do.

One can tell the quality of a person through the children they raise...for if their children are of strong character, so must be their parents. This is especially true with Father/Son relationships. Whereas I have never had the opportunity, nor the honor of meeting Mr. Parsons, I am able to see what a wonderful man he was (and always will be within your heart and soul) through meeting your son, Brad. Mr. Parsons raised a fine young man, giving him the strength and guidance to make it through life! And, ma'am...he did well. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours! Stay strong...for he is with Him now...watching you from above, and still carin g for you through Brad. God bless!

Joe was the greatest man I ever knew. Dad won't get much love here. My dad didn't reach out to anyone for approval or validation. Joe Parsons was his own man. Dad dedicated his life to his family, his grandchildren especially. Joe Parsons I guess was different. the difference between him and others is he cared nothing about a legacy or what other people thought about him. My father cared about us. His family. I guess I'm happy and sad about that. No one truly knew the man but all of you missed out on knowing the kindest giving man in Kershaw County. Joe Parsons deserved more than this. I miss you Dad, I love you Dad. Thanks for being the man that you were, Father, husband Grandfather, brother, friend. GODSPEED
