LUGOFF – A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bobby Glenn “Dickie” Bowers, 61, will be held on Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Louie McDonald will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. following the service at the home 1103 Pepper Ridge Drive, Lugoff, SC. Dickie passed away at his home on Friday, October 5, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Camden, he was the son of Reece Quinton Bowers and the late Tina Catoe Bowers. He served in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Management. He was a general contractor and served the Kershaw County Community in many different capacities. He was currently employed with the South Carolina Department of Energy. Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Ann Shepherd Bowers; father, Reece Bowers of Lugoff; sons, Chad A. Bowers (Colleen) of Pawleys Island, Nicholas K. Bowers (Sonja) of Los Angeles, Calif., and Colby A. Bowers (Jessica) of Rock Hill; sister, Gayle B. White of Lugoff; brothers, G. Wayne Bowers (Jan) of Hanahan and Randy D. Bowers (Mandy) of Lugoff; and grandchildren, McKenzie Bowers, Megan Bowers, Colson Bowers, Brycen Bowers, and Gavin Bowers. He was predeceased by brothers, Reece Bowers Jr. and Jerry O. Bowers.
