LUGOFF – A Celebration of Life Service for Mildred B. Sessions, 81, will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Harvest Baptist Church with burial to follow in Greenhaven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bill Dulaney and Rev. Everette Reconnu will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Harvest Baptist Church Youth Fund. Mrs. Sessions, born on April 3, 1937, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. (Bob) Sessions; son, Robert (Gregg) Sessions. Surviving are her daughters, Tina Matheny and Robin Sessions; grandchildren, Beth Sessions, Zac Sessions, Robert Lanier, Jr. (Amanda), Joshua Lanier (Kayla), Ryan Moore and Brooke Moore; great-granddaughter, Anabelle Ruth Lanier; sisters, Lillie Bell Wilcox of Lumberton, N.C., Beatrice Jackson of Elgin, Nioaka Richardson of Lugoff, Patricia Cates of Ridgeway and Linda Stearns of Blythewood. She loved the Lord and served Him faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, choir member and other various duties. She has been a Godly mother, grandmother (Nanny) and great-grandmother. She is remembered for her amazing smile and the loving care she has shown to others. Her hobbies included traveling with her husband, square dancing and spending time with her grandchildren.
