LUGOFF – Funeral services for Trustee James Lawson, Jr., 63, will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Andrew Thomas will officiate. Trustee Lawson passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018. Born in Kershaw, he was a son of the late James Lawson Sr. and Serena Jefferson Lawson. Trustee Lawson was a member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where he served as a chairman of trustee board and enjoyed working at the church. He also enjoyed fishing, playing checkers and cards, and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife, Peggie Bostick Lawson; children, Terrance Bostick (Lisa) of Lugoff, Cherry Bostick of Lugoff; siblings, LillieMae Grant (Lewis), Emogene Moore, Linda L. Goodwin, Alvin Lawson (Wanda), Deacon Emmanuel Lawson (Glenda), Carolyn Grant (James); brother-in-law, Benny Bostick; 2 sisters-in-law, Hazel Banks (Eddie) and Brenda Hunter (Louis); 5 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings, Ethaniel Lawson and Thelma Lawson.
