RIDGEWAY – Funeral service for William Dennis Russ, Jr., 72, will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Rowan Presbyterian Church with burial to follow in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Mr. Russ passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Born in Hartsville on January 30, 1946, he was the son of the late Ruth Blackwell Russ and William Dennis Russ, Sr. He served in the United States Marine Corp and was one of the brave men who fought in Vietnam for the Country he loved. He retired after 37 years with DuPont and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping with his friends and most of all spending time with his family. Mr. Russ was a member of the Marine Corp League, VFW Ridgeway and Sawney Creek Hunt Club. Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Sue Russ; daughters, Tracy Kerr (Bradley), Kim Russ, Sandy Hornung; step-son, Jeff Ramsey (Michelle); sisters, Kay Jackson and Vickie Russ Turner; grandchildren, Bailey Kerr, Holly Kerr, Gage Koumas, Brook Koumas, Blair Koumas, Jake Hornung, Julia Hornung, Brady Ramsey (Kim), Marie Ramsey, Hunter Ramsey, Emma Ramsey, Katie King, and Barbie King. He was predeceased by his sister, Faye Russ Kirkbride.
