ELGIN – A graveside service for Deborah Byrd Gleaton, 59, will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Theil-Meyers Pet Adoption Center. Mrs. Gleaton, wife of the late Michael Gleaton, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Born in Germany, she was a daughter of Earline Byrd Brown and the late Joseph L. Brown. Mrs. Gleaton enjoyed painting and crafts. Surviving are her children, Thomas C. Williams, III of Camden, Joseph Evans of Dillon, Deborah Simmons Dixon (Marcus Truesdale), Malcum Byrd of Elgin; grandchildren, Gabrielle Tucker, Isiah Tucker, Isabella Dixon, Honesty Dixon, Logan Dixon, Scarlet Truesdale, Dillion Dixon, and Joseph’s 2 children; and siblings, Donald Brown (Tammy) of Bishopville, Joseph Brown (Wanda Sue) of Elgin, and Melissa Flowers of Bishopville. She was predeceased by her first husband, Malcum Byrd; and siblings, Jenny Brown, Sallie Ann Brown, and Anthony Brown.
