ELGIN – Funeral service with military honors for Paul R. Kennedy, 85, will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. at Lugoff Church of God with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The Rev. Tim Shirley and the Rev. Tony Barnes will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Kennedy passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018. Born in Hinch, W.V., he was the son of the late Thomas D. and Meadia Snodgrass Kennedy. He retired from the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing the guitar and watching football. Mr. Kennedy was a faithful member of Lugoff Church of God. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Juanita Edith Basham Kennedy; daughter, Sharon Lynn Kennedy of Elgin; son, Christopher L. Kennedy of Elgin; and sisters, Donna Bolden of Griffin, Ga and Reba Stull of Williamstown, W.V.
